Frequently Asked Questions

  • You may already recognize areas where you’re struggling, whether it’s anxiety, depression, or trying to balance work and life. But therapy isn’t only for times when something feels wrong.

Think of therapy like a check-up for your mental and emotional health—it’s a space to build resilience, gain clarity, and strengthen your well-being. You don’t have to wait until you feel overwhelmed to benefit from therapy. It can also be about understanding yourself better, creating healthier boundaries, and having a safe space to process life without judgment.

  • Yes! I am currently accepting new clients. Please call or email and schedule a FREE 15 min consultation to explore if we are a good fit and how I can support you on your mental health journey.

  • I am considered an out of network (OON) provider, meaning that I do not accept insurance directly at this time. My clients pay by keeping a card on file, which is charged after every session. While I am an OON provider, I do provide all interested clients with a superbill, which clients can submit directly to their insurance company for out of network reimbursement. Essentially, a superbill is a detailed invoice, outlining the services rendered. It includes information such as provider details, client information, services provided, costs involved, and diagnosis codes. Still have questions about superbills? Contact me!

  • As of January 1, 2022, the "No Surprises Act" requires mental health practitioners to provide a "Good Faith Estimate" (GFE) for out-of-network care to uninsured patients or those not using insurance. The GFE outlines expected costs for your mental health care based on current information and excludes unforeseen expenses. While the total cost depends on the number of sessions and services you receive, the estimate provides an initial cost overview. It is not a contract and does not obligate you to use any services listed.

  • During our first session, I will be getting to know you. I will be asking you to share about what brings you to therapy, as well as information about your life leading up to this moment. In our first session, I typically ask more questions so I can get a broader sense of your story. We may talk about what your day-to-day life looks like, what coping skills you use, if you have been in therapy before, what your hobbies are, what your support system looks like, etc. There is nothing you need to do to prepare, and there is nothing you need to bring with you.

  • This question is challenging to answer definitively, as each client’s needs and progress are unique, resulting in varying lengths of treatment. My aim, however, is not for clients to remain in therapy indefinitely. Instead, the goal is to engage in therapy for a meaningful period, during which you experience growth, gain new insights, and develop effective skills. Together, we will explore when it feels appropriate to conclude therapy, discussing the process of termination as an integral part of your journey.

  • Yes, I have a sliding scale available for clients experiencing challenging economic circumstances. No proof of income is necessary, rather I simply ask potential clients to have a conversation with me to determine what fee makes sense for them. I want therapy to be accessible for you, so please do not hesitate to contact me to discuss a sliding scale rate. If my sliding scale fees are still not within reach, still reach out and we can explore some lower fee referral ideas.

  • Yes, I offer secure, HIPAA-compliant virtual sessions for clients across Pennsylvania, along with in-person sessions at my office.
